Dear valued partners, clients, community members, and businesses

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with pride and gratitude for all that we have achieved together.  Our mission to build meaningful interactions that restore and strengthen bonds within communities has been at the forefront of our work, and we are thrilled to see the positive impact it has had.

We have been privileged to work at the coalface of social issues and challenges, supporting individuals and families in their times of need.  The most rewarding aspect of our work is witnessing the transformation in people’s lives, from negative to positive, and the ripple effect it has on their environment.

Our partnership with the Breede Valley Association of and for Persons with Disabilities has been particularly gratifying, equipping individuals with disabilities with the skills to become employable.  This has inspired us to launch our own youth-focused intervention, Shukuma, which means “to move” and reflects our commitment to empowering youth to reach their full potential.

We are also heartened by the success of our change readiness interventions with the Nuwe Begin Homeless Shelter, reintegrating individuals back into society and reuniting them with their families.  The Touwsrivier Community Development Programme continues to thrive, with notable progress in areas such as creativity, family restoration, and community growth.

This year, we took an exciting step into businesses and team interventions, emphasising that a company’s greatest asset is its staff across all levels.  We believe that profit is important, but it’s about MoreThan just profit margins.

Looking ahead, we are eager to:

  • Continue growing our project in Touwsriver and expanding to other communities in Worcester, Rawsonville, DeDoorns, and Paarl.
  • Develop and grow our homelessness programme in Worcester.
  • Open the MoreThan Community Centre in Touwsriver. Watch this space for more details!
  • Take the SHUKUMA Youth Programme into communities in Worcester, Touwsriver, and Rawsonville.
  • Establish MoreThan Community Centres in 5 rural communities by 2027.

In closing we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have journeyed with us this past year.  We wish you a joyous Christmas and a restful Festive Season. As we look to 2025, we eagerly anticipate another year of growth, connection, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
