Margaret Carelse formerly Frans, was born on January 21st, 1965, in Touws River, Western Cape, where her life’s journey began amidst numerous challenges.
| From a young age, Margaret faced hardships that often left her questioning the purpose of her existence. Despite the struggles and tears that accompanied her childhood, Margaret excelled academically and found solace and recognition at school. However, her home environment was marked by instability and the influence of unethical teachings from her father, which deeply troubled her. |
|
|
|
| Despite these adversities, Margaret held onto a childhood dream of creating a safe and loving space for neglected children, drawing inspiration from her own experiences. This dream grew stronger as she navigated through life’s trials and tribulations. |
| Years later, while engaged in missionary work in Leeuw-Gamka, Margaret’s path took a significant turn when she adopted a child with a disability, initially unaware of her condition. This experience ignited Margaret’s passion for advocacy and support for persons with disabilities. Her journey led her to collaborate with organisations such as the Breede Valley APD and MoreThanMeerAs, where she gained invaluable knowledge and a renewed sense of purpose. Through these experiences, Margaret discovered that she is more than her past mistakes and circumstances, realising her capacity to create positive change. |

| Margaret’s dedication extended to working with abused women, neglected children, and the Department of Social Development. As a registered guardian, she opened her heart and home to children in need, offering them love and care. |
| Her vision now encompasses establishing a children’s home, fuelled by her resilience and unwavering faith. |
| Margaret’s recent achievement of obtaining her learner’s license at the age of 59 reflects her determination to continue serving and nurturing her children, with hopes of acquiring her driver’s license soon. Supported by her family, especially her husband and daughter, Margaret is driven by a profound sense of compassion and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children. |
